This reboot of GeGeGe no Kitaro is extremely underrated. While I will claim it has it's flaws, I still can't believe it isn't more popular than it is. My main complaint is the variation of the quality in the animation, at its best it's epic and its worst it's decent. The story is as always a matter of personal taste. Basically it's a main plot for every story arc and a sub plot for every episode. The downside of that is some episodes will be less interesting than others, but I personally enjoy the majority of them. I like the spooky stuff and Kitaro introduces us to a lot of interesting Japanese folklore. But the most interesting thing about the show is how it constantly reminds us of real world issues like social media obsessions, or how it takes on problems like racism where they place yokais in the position of immigrants, and on occasions it goes as dark as being about suicide. This one is ABSOLUTELY worth your time and I'll highly recommend it.
